Church of the Ascension Golf Outing – Saturday, September 19th

Church of the Ascension in Orlando will host its annual four person scramble golf outing on September 19th at Windermere Country Club. Proceeds support Ms. Minnie’s (Minnie Hutchison’s) Kids which provides after school programs and meals to underprivileged children. Cost is $65/person efore August 16th and $75 after. $50,000 in Parish Development Grants Awarded

This year, the Congregational Development Commission received grant requests from 24 congregations. The requests totaled more than $500,000. The Diocesan Board has approved the following grants:

• $25,000 to Church of the Messiah in Winter Garden for its virtual school – Messiah Academy
• $14,000 to St Peter’s in Lake Mary for its MaxLife Community Outreach & Youth Leadership Development program, and
• $11,000 to Church of St. Luke and St. Peter in St. Cloud for its Church Entrance Sign & Gate project

Conference on Ministry – August 29th

The Commission on Ministry is hosting the Annual Conference on Ministry at Church of the Messiah, 241 N. Main Street in Winter Garden on Saturday, August 29th 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Who in your congregation has demonstrated leadership gifts and has a passion for leading and equipping God’s people?
• Who has the heart of a deacon?
• Who is struggling with a call to ministry yet unsure what form that ministry might take?
• Who is already clear about a call to ordination?
• Who are you prepared to support in continuing discernment?
