Happy Summer!! The Outreach Ministry continues to extend a helping hand to those in need and we have some exciting plans for the summer for collections. Our activities this past month included the following:
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to those of you who donated clothing to our Father’s Day collection for men this past month. We had a banner collection with some excellent clothing! At least $2500 of new underwear, socks, T-shirts, undershirts, gently used jeans, casual clothes, T-shirts, shorts, shoes, tennis shoes, ties, dockers, belts and business attire were donated to the Palmetto House (the work clothes went to those in recovery in their search for work and for getting their lives back on track) and to HUM Bridge of Hope visitors (the underwear, socks, T-shirts, undershirts and tennis shoes). This put a smile on both the volunteers AND the grateful recipients.
The Mission and Outreach monetary donations processed for June were as follows:
The HUM Bridge of Hope Needs for the Month of July: Peanut Butter, Food Service size cans of veggies.
For the HUM Family Food Pantry: Pasta and Pasta Sauce, canned veggies, Kraft mac ‘n cheese
The collection for the MONTH OF JULY, commencing on June 28th, will be a “Dress for Success” CAREER col-lection for women, (for those in search of a new job), donating to our various ministry partners. There will be a collection area near the stage in Palmer Hall (a clothes rack) and bins on the stage. Collection will be to mid- July . Hoping that everyone has at least one nice outfit they don’t want or need. Why not do-nate it to help someone “Dress for Success”?
