On behalf of Bishop Greg Brewer, the Diocese of Central Florida announced that the Rev. Michael Rowell, a former interim minister at Holy Trinity Episcopal in Fruitland Park, died on Wednesday, Aug 23.
According to the Rev. Canon Tim Nunez, Canon to the Ordinary, for the Diocese of Central Florida, Rowell’s burial office will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 2201 Spring Lake Road, Fruitland Park, FL, 34731.
Rowell was born in Ocala in 1944 and retired to his family home in Ocklawaha, an unincorporated community in Marion County. His last ministry position came at Holy Trinity, where he served as an intern and led a revival of the church’s historic Carpenter Gothic sanctuary.
