The wife of a former Diocese of Central Florida bishop died on Wednesday, Nov. 2, according to an announcement from current bishop Greg Brewer and the diocese.
Christine “Chris” Folwell, who was the beloved wife of Bishop William Folwell, passed away in Hendersonville, N.C., surrounded by her family. William Folwell served as bishop for Central Florida from 1970-1989 – the longest-running tenure of any bishop in the area.
A funeral service for Chris Folwell will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6, at the Folwell’s home parish, St. James Episcopal in Hendersonville. An obituary for Chris Folwell is expected to be published soon on www.blueridgenow.com on the internet.
