Parishioners at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church in Winter Park are invited to join Divine Diners for lunch at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21, following services at Anna’s Polish Restaurant, 3586 Aloma Ave., Winter Park.
Following lunch, parishioners are welcome to join the Divine Diners group for the movie “The Shack” at the sanctuary of Aloma United Methodist Church, 3045 Aloma Ave., from 5 to 7 p.m. Aloma Methodist is located just down the road from Anna’s restaurant.
The next day, Monday, Jan. 22, St. Richard’s will once again present the Summoning the Divine through Literature Festival of Light readings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The readings will be repeated from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23.
The readings are part of the Dr. Seuss & Friends Joyful Spiritual Celebration. The reading packet is available in the church office or by emailing session designer/facilitator Pam Menke at menkepamela@yahoo.com on the internet. Everyone is invited to the readings.
In other news, the Rev. Dr. Dale Truscott will hold a training session for those who would like to encourage missing churchgoers to return to church. The session will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the Conference Room. Truscott’s team will assign individuals to a family.
Also, St. Richard’s will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 28, following the 10:30 a.m. service. As the only official meeting of the church, it is held to review the budget set by the vestry for 2018 and to elect four new members to the vestry, which is the official board of the non-profit corporation that is St. Richard’s.
