Want to build team spirit in your group? We have lots to offer.
Who doesn’t like the challenge of a ropes course? It’s a great way to build self-confidence and a team can-do spirit. And the Challenge Course at Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center has a lot to offer.
THE FULL CHALLENGE COURSE
The Low Course is a carefully orchestrated set of physical and mental activities and challenges for groups. These activities focus on leadership, trust, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, cooperation, decision-making, motivation, and conflict resolution. They compel the group to work together to overcome the challenge and therefore build unity.
After the group has completed the sequence of low initiatives, they are ready to experience the High Course. It focuses on the individual’s emotional and physical insecurities; helps them set and complete personal goals; and fosters perseverance, risk-taking, and motivation. The group acts as an emotional support for the individual who is climbing the element, putting to use the skills developed on the Low Course.
At the end of each activity, the facilitator leads a debrief discussion, which focuses on a teamwork topic relative to that event. Through open discussions, the events are related to real-life situations. These discussions are not lectures on teamwork, but provide a welcoming and positive forum for participants to analyze the activity and relate relevant situations.
Full- and half-day options are available.
THE CORPORATE CONNECTION
This is a carefully orchestrated set of physical and mental low challenges and activities for groups. The course features a variety of initiatives together with ice-breaking activities and games with specific purposes. During these teambuilding activities, participants learn from the experience of working together to overcome the challenges each activity presents. The debriefing process is also a part of the Corporate Connection. It can be used to kick off a day of meetings, motivate goal-setting, or experientially illustrate a teamwork topic your corporation wants to reinforce. This course usually lasts one to two hours.
No matter your purpose for wanting to accept the challenge of the ropes course, Canterbury is here to help. Contact us today and book your next group challenge.
