St. Richard’s Church was established as a mission of All Saints Church in Winter Park in 1956. Its first services were held at Lakemont Elementary School with the Rev. Frank N. Brunton, Priest in Charge. The mission acquired the property at 5151 Lake Howell Road in 1957, and services were first held in the newly built parish hall/church in 1958. St. Richard’s Church achieved full parish status in 1960, and the congregation erected a church building, where the congregation began worshiping, in 1971. The Rev. Alison P. Harrity is the current rector.
