The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of the Diocese of Central Florida announced that United Thank Offering (U.T.O.) 2018 grant applications are now being taken.
The grant focus and criteria for 2018 are: “Becoming Beloved Community: Racial Healing, Reconciliation and Justice” (Becoming the Beloved Community is rooted in the Jesus Movement).
Those interested in the grant application process are asked to please see the following documents on “Becoming the Beloved Community” at: https://www.episcopalchurch.org/updated-resources on the internet.
The United Thank Offering accepts:
- Grant applications for start-up costs for a new ministry, not for continuation of an ongoing ministry unless there is a definite new direction added to the existing program.
- Grant applications for seed money for start-up positions, either full- or part-time for a new ministry (see above).
“There are other requirements, as well, but these (aforementioned) are the most important for the churches in our diocese,” said Edith E. Therrien, Diocesan U.T.O. Coordinator.
All information pertaining to the grant process became available Dec. 1 and can be accessed at: www.episcopalchurch.org/uto or www.unitedthankoffering.org on the internet.
Deadline for submission to the Diocesan U.T.O. Review Committee is Friday, Feb. 2, 2018. All submissions must be emailed to Therrien at scheeredithe@gmail.com to be considered. The deadline date allows time for review and corrections before submissions are presented to the Bishop for approval by Friday, Feb. 16, in order to meet the final deadline for submission to the National U.T.O. Board by 5 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018.
“Have you planned a project, do you have one in mind?” Therrien said. “The first step in either case is to go to one of the websites and download the information. Then get busy. You have less than two months to complete the process.”
