Discovering your spiritual gifts, and learning about peace, reconciliation, tolerance, acceptance and service will be topics of discussion on Saturday, May 5, when the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) Central Deanery Annual Meeting is held.

The meeting, which has a Year 3 theme of “Building Bridges of Peace and Reconciliation,” will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 601 North Highland Ave., Apopka. Check-in/registration begins at 9:30 a.m. “Our meetings are open to all; however, I am making a special appeal to invite women ages 18 years and older to attend and to register early,” said Sally Davila, Deanery Meeting Chairwoman, Church of the Holy Spirit. “You don’t want to miss this!”

A number of clergy throughout the Diocese of Central Florida will be on hand, including the Rev. John J. Pallard, priest-in-charge at the Church of the Messiah in Winter Garden, who will be the Celebrant.

“Our spiritual gifts presenters will be the Rev. Tracy M. Dugger and the Rev Gladys Rodriguez,” said Davila. “Rev. Tracy is the assistant rector of Church of the Messiah. Rev. Gladys is an Episcopal priest with membership at Christ the King, Orlando.”

A continental breakfast and lunch are included in the event. All participants are asked to wear red and white. Early registration has begun and runs through April 15, with a fee of $10 per person. Regular registration commences April 16 and will cost $15 per person. Registration form is below.

This year’s annual meeting also consists of a missionary effort. “We will be collecting donation items for Harbor House of Central Florida,” Davila said. “All parishes in the Central Deanery are asked to bring your donated items to the Annual Meeting.”
