One of the nation’s most engaging speakers and experts on how faith has impacted the arts and Christianity will come to All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Lakeland this fall for a two-day conference-style weekend.
Glaspey, who has written more than a dozen books, including the text for our recent Inspired Art Parish Academy Class: 75 Masterpieces Every Christian Should Know: Fascinating Stories Behind Great Art, Music, Literature, and Film, will speak at All Saints’ Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12-14. The event is free and open to the public on Oct. 13-14.
The Rev. Dr. Reid Hensarling, rector at All Saints’, and others from the church met Glaspey at the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute – “Oxbridge 2017,” according to an All Saints’ press release. Glaspey was a featured instructor and taught about the impact of faith on the development of the arts and the magnificent creative expressions of the Christian story.
After hearing Glaspey, All Saints’ officials immediately began plans to bring this powerful experience home by hosting him for a conference-style weekend centered on creativity, imagination and the role of great art in our spiritual journey.
A resident of Eugene, Oregon, Glaspey has a master’s degree in history from the University of Oregon and an undergraduate degree emphasizing counseling and pastoral studies, according to https://www.terryglaspey.com/ on the internet.
