May 2, 2020: Daughters of the King to Host National Day of Prayer Zoom MeetingApril 30, 2020 • CFE Staff  • EVENTS

The success of the Daughters of the King 135th Anniversary Zoom meeting earlier this month has prompted the organization to host another major event this weekend.

In conjunction with the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, “Conversations with Daughters” will take place Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern in an online Zoom meeting dedicated to the National Day of Prayer. The actual date for National Day of Prayer is May 7, but because the Daughters are already in the habit of these Saturday Zoom gatherings, they plan to observe the National Day of Prayer a few days earlier.

The Rt. Rev. Gregory O. Brewer, national chaplain for Daughters of the King, will participate in the meeting.

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew’s and Daughters of the King have a connection that goes back more than 100 years. The Brotherhood formed in 1883 with the mission to bring men and youth to Christ. The Daughters formed two years later with the same mission geared toward women and girls.

The National Day of Prayer, designated as such by Congress in 1952, is held the first Thursday of May.

The meeting will be recorded and available to public access on the Thursday, May 7 on the Daughters of the King YouTube channel.
