Emmanuel Episcopal Church, a busy and growing parish near downtown Orlando, is seeking a hard-working parish administrator to assist its clergy, staff, and congregation.

Located at 1603 E. Winter Park Road, Emmanuel Episcopal is just minutes from toney Baldwin Park, Mills Avenue and the ever-growing downtown Orlando area. The church is in the Central Deanery, which is near the Diocese of Central Florida offices.

According to a church news release, job responsibilities and duties for parish administrator are:

  • Office reception with a careful heart for the people of God as they call or visit.
  • Coordination of staff, schedules, volunteers, groups that use facilities.
  • Contract and oversee performance of vendors and stay up to date with paperwork ie. reports, renewals.
  • Administrative duties for Father David Bumsted, rector: calendar, correspondence, lectionary, approvals, vestry items, special projects.
  • Handle communications involving ministry schedule, sending out readings and information

relating to the services, prayer requests, meetings.

  • Aid with personnel: administer payroll, provide applications, links for required courses, maintain

files, etc.

  • Handle all office and campus functions: mail, supplies, security, facilities bookings, repairs, keys,

and maintain orderly indoor spaces.

  • Maintain online calendar, and create weekly and special event bulletins and have ready in a

timely manner.

  • Report directly to Father David Bumsted.
  • Tentative hours: M-W: 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Th-F: 8:30 a.m.-noon.

 

Qualifications and skill desired include:

  • Computer skills in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. User knowledge in ACS/Realm,

Adobe InDesign, WordPress, Constant Contact and social media platforms would be a benefit.

  • Working knowledge of, or strong willingness to learn about the Anglican tradition (The Book of

Common Prayer, the Church Year, the Lectionary, etc.) would be a benefit.

  • Ability to work on a small staff with a commitment to strong communication.
  • Must be willing to maintain a high level of confidentiality for all aspects related to the job.
