St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Haines City recently took time out to thank local First Responders – in church, no less.

St. Mark’s parish administrator Joslyn Williams announced that six First Responders of Haines City were recognized during church services on Sunday, Oct. 14. Following the service, there was a blessing of the fire trucks and a brunch was held in Sanderson Hall.

Canon Angela Ifill and the Rev. William Guthrie were officiants at the service, which drew an estimated 79 people. This marked the second time the parish has honored the First Responders of Haines City.

“Each First Responder received a gift, and plaques showing special postage stamps with First Responders were given to display in the fire stations in Haines City,” Williams said.
