St. Mark’s, Cocoa, to Host an Evening of Fun and WorshipOctober 2, 2019 • Nina Keck  • DIOCESAN FAMILY • EVENTS

St. Mark’s Episcopal Academy, Cocoa, will hold a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct.12. Immediately preceding the event from 4-5 p.m. is the Youth Service in  St. Mark’s church.
Once a month, St. Mark’s has a Saturday evening service geared to the youth. “The service is less formal,” explains The Rev. Gary Jackson, rector of St. Mark’s. “It lasts an hour, and we keep the kids for two hours while their parents enjoy a parents’ night out.”
Most of the parents taking part are parents of the Academy students. “These parents lead busy, busy lives, so we like to help them relax when we can. This month they can have fun at the Fall Festival.”
From 5-8 p.m. on the playground at St. Mark’s there will be carnival games, bounce houses, face painting from St. Mark’s Academy’s art teacher Mrs. Wood, rock painting, cornhole, ring toss, and goodie bags. Adults can look forward to the Chili Cook-off.
Fall Festival is hosted by the St. Mark’s Parent, Teacher, Friends group. “The Fall Festival will bring together the parish and the Academy in a great evening of worship and fun,” explains Jackson.

The event is free to all St. Mark’s students, families, and friends, but does require a wristband for admission. Those interested in the Festival may drop by the school office to pick up a wristband no later than Thursday, Oct. 3.
