St. Thomas, Eustis, announces the appointment of its new rector, The Rev. Matthew Perreault, with an invitation to his celebration of new ministry on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
Perreault was born and reared in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He grew up in the Pentecostal tradition, but as an adult, felt drawn into the Anglican tradition through his grandmother’s parish. An active church member for many years, he ultimately discerned a call to ministry. He attended Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Nashotah, Wisconsin, where he completed his Master of Divinity.
Perreault was ordained to the diaconate on Aug. 3, 2018, and to the priesthood on June 22, 2019. He was appointed curate at All Saints Cochrane in the Anglican Diocese of Calgary.
While in seminary, Perreault met his future wife, Linzie, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, who was then teaching theater in nearby Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After an international courtship, the two married in January 2020 in Banff, Alberta, at a service presided over by Archbishop Gregory Kerr-Wilson.
St. Thomas anticipates the couple’s arrival in Florida Sept. 1 and looks forward to Perreault celebrating his first service there on Sept. 12. Church members invite you to join in the celebration of Perreault’s new ministry and rejoice alongside them in the work of the Lord.
