Curry

Thousands of folks from all over have registered to hear the praising voice of Presiding Bishop Michael Curry on Friday, Feb. 1. And there’s plenty more spots available to listen to one of the most dynamic Episcopalian speakers.

The Diocese of Central Florida announced Monday, Jan. 14, that more 2,000 people already have registered online for the 50th Anniversary Revival Service at First Baptist Church, 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando. The service will feature Curry as guest preacher. Curry achieved worldwide fame last year when he served as preacher for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Approximately 2,200 seats remain available for the service, which begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. and organizers are asking attendees to please arrive early if possible. Worship music begins at 6:15 p.m. Following the revival service, prayer teams will remain available starting at 9 p.m.

The event, which is part of the 2019 Diocesan Convention, is free and open to the public. Organizers request that interested people reserve a ticket in advance as general admission space is limited. Registration can be done online at:

The convention wraps on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Trinity Prep, 5700 Trinity Prep Lane, Winter Park. The session will include an address from Bishop Greg Brewer, along with special presentations, elections, adoption of the 2019 budget and other matters. A special luncheon also will be held.
