Registration for the 2025 Clergy Conference is closed.
Faith is a gift of God that is awakened by hearing the gospel (Romans 10:17). Through the promise of “the word of Christ,” the Holy Spirit stirs faith, convicts hearts, and makes the Father’s love known. It is the announcement of what God has done in Christ—an objective promise to be believed and received through Word and Sacrament. Our calling is proclamation, not a regimen of advice.
Join the Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin S. Holcomb at this year’s Clergy Conference for the priests and deacons of the Diocese of Central Florida as he reflects theologically, pastorally, and practically on the task of preaching, and its unique power to bring grace to sinners, healing to the suffering, and hope to the weary and searching.
Drawing from Scripture, the Church’s tradition, and the wisdom of faithful voices, Bishop Holcomb will emphasize the preacher’s responsibility to announce God’s promises in Christ’s incarnation, life, death, resurrection, ascension, and return; explore the vital distinction between law and gospel; and provide guidance on sermon structure, illustrations, and gospel clarity, with content that applies to both preaching and teaching.
Clergy Attire: Clericals are optional.
