“Mission, then, is not strong people doing big things for God. It is weak people who have been broken open by grace—fully known and fully loved—carrying a treasure that is not theirs, in a strength that is not theirs, for a glory that is not theirs.”

In his 2026 Convention Address, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin S. Holcomb invited the Diocese of Central Florida to complete the biblical arc found in scripture—the pattern by which Jesus creates and grows the Church: Gospel, Church, Mission.

Speaking to clergy and lay leaders gathered, Bishop Holcomb centered this year’s address on mission—not as burden or program, but as God’s work, flowing from Christ’s finished victory, his abiding presence, and the joy of the resurrection. Drawing from Scripture, he calls the church to recognize its posture of availability before God: “Here I am.”
